Interplay of Cucurbit Yellow Stunting Disorder Virus With Cucurbit Chlorotic Yellows Virus and Transmission Dynamics by <i>Bemisia tabaci</i> MED

چکیده
Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus (CCYV) and cucurbit yellow stunting disorder (CYSDV) are two closely related criniviruses that often coinfect cucurbits associated with disease. Both viruses distributed worldwide transmitted in a semipersistent manner by the whitefly vectors Bemisia tabaci MED or MEAM1. The major goal of this study was to provide insight into interaction CCYV CYSDV cucumber effect on transmission B. MED. titers both were estimated single- dually infected plants via reverse transcription PCR assays. In mixed infections, accumulation significantly decreased. When adults placed viruses, their simultaneous efficiency higher, whereas each individual low. Moreover, nonviruliferous whiteflies preferentially settled crinivirus-infected plants, viruliferous attracted healthy plants. Finally, titer calculated five commercial hybrids, followed subsequent experiments. Our results show although lower infections cucumbers, increased.

Direct evidence for the semipersistent transmission of Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus by a whitefly vector
Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus (CCYV) (genus Crinivirus, family Closteroviridae) is an emerging plant virus, and is now spreading and causing severe economic losses to cucurbit crops in many Asian countries. CCYV is believed to be transmitted specifically by the sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, in a semipersistent manner. In the present study, we provide direct evidence for the semipersi...

Cucurbit yellow stunting disorder virus (CYSDV) is a destructive virus of cucurbits in Iran. During 2008-2012 growing seasons a total of 366 cucurbit samples including melon, cucumber, snakemelon and squash with typical symptoms of CYSDV infection were collected from ten Provinces in Iran. They were screened by ELISA and the infectivity of ELISA-positive samples was confirmed by RT-PCR. The res...

An analysis of nucleotide sequences in five coding and one non-coding genomic regions of 35 Cucurbit yellow stunting disorder virus (CYSDV) isolates collected on a local scale over an 8 year period is reported here. In total, 2277 nt were sequenced for each isolate, representing about 13 % of the complete virus genome. Mean nucleotide diversity for the whole population in synonymous positions i...

Background: Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus (CABYV) is among the most important yellowing viruses on cucurbits in Iran. The presence of CABYV has been previously reported from the major cucurbit growing areas in Iran, however, there are few studies concerning the detection of the diff erent strains of this virus in the grower’s fi elds, and especially, there is no report of ...

Surveys of yellowing viruses in plastic tunnels and in open field crops of melon (Cucumis melo cultivar catalupo), oriental melon (C. melo cultivar oriental melon), and cucumber (C. sativus) were carried out in two melon-growing areas in 2014, Korea. Severe yellowing symptoms on older leaves of melon and chlorotic spots on younger leaves of melon were observed in the plastic tunnels. The sympto...
